Ungaretti & Harris Expands Intellectual Property Practice With Addition of Entire Schwartz Cooper IP Group

Chicago, July 14, 2008 – Ungaretti & Harris welcomes six new attorneys for the creation of an Intellectual Property Group. Joining the firm from Schwartz Cooper are Partners Roger H. Stein, Richard C. Himelhoch, Peter M. Klobuchar and Stanton B. Miller, and Susan Meyer and Bryan P. Sugar, who are Counsel to the firm.
“We’ve been looking to add a dedicated IP practice for some time and know that these six attorneys will provide immediate value to our firm and clients,” Managing Partner Thomas M. Fahey said.
Partners
Mr. Stein, Chair of the Intellectual Property Group, concentrates his practice in all aspects of Intellectual Property, including portfolio management, counseling, negotiating, investigating, prosecution and litigation relating to domestic and foreign patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and unfair competition. Mr. Stein received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1984 and his B.S. from the University of Illinois with honors in 1981.
Mr. Himelhoch’s practice includes all aspects of intellectual property, including domestic and foreign patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and unfair competition, counseling, investigating, transactions, prosecution and litigation. He received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1990 and his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1987.
Mr. Klobuchar concentrates his practice on all aspects of domestic and foreign patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and unfair competition, including counseling, investigations, transactions, prosecution, litigation, and European and Australian patent opposition practice. He received his J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1996 and his B.S. from the School of Materials Science Engineering at Purdue University in 1987.
Mr. Miller concentrates his practice in transactional law, negotiating and preparing business agreements ranging from construction contracts to licenses of intellectual property rights. Mr. Miller received his LL.M. in Taxation from The John Marshall Law School in 1979, his J.D. from the University of Illinois in 1968 and his A.B. from Miami University (Ohio) in 1965.
Counsel
Ms. Meyer is a corporate attorney specializing in intellectual property and franchise law. She represents start-up and established companies, franchisors, and franchisees. She assists clients with all aspects of their corporate and intellectual property needs and helps them manage their growth. Ms. Meyer received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1994 and her B.A. from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1986.
Mr. Sugar concentrates his practice in the administration of domestic and international trademark registration programs, intellectual property issues in acquisitions and secured transactions, and litigation and counseling involving copyrights, trademarks, patents, domain names, e-commerce, licensing, rights of publicity and rights in computer software and databases. Mr. Sugar received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2001 and his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 1996.
