President's Letter: Your Leadership is Chapter Strength
The Chicago Connection: Association For Corporate Growth Newsletter
09/01/02
In January 2003, at the annual awards dinner of the Chicago chapter of ACG, the officers, the committee chairs, and the board of the Chapter will be honored for completing their two-year terms of office. As a volunteer organization, the ACG depends on its members to provide the time and energy required to make this a vibrant and meaningful association.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to those of you who have participated in making the past two years so successful. Despite all the turmoil in the economy, the market and the business environment, the Chicago Chapter has grown dramatically, our excellent programs have been well attended, and we have established a solid foundation for our future.
Interested members may be selected to continue in their current capacity or replace an outgoing member based upon the submission of an expression of interest which will be reviewed by the nominating committee. The by-laws of the Chapter describe the responsibilities of the officers, committee chairs and directors. I encourage all members to review the descriptions and forward a letter or e-mail identifying the position in which you have an interest to Carol Morse, the Executive Vice President, Terry Cobb, the Chapter Administrator, or me. In the event that you are not slated, your inquiry will be deemed to be an indication that you desire to become more involved in the activities of the Chapter and its committees.
Members who have served in various capacities have enjoyed a very positive experience and increased networking opportunities. Volunteers invariably receive more than they give. Your help and talents will fuel the continued growth and development of the organization.
On a personal note, the past two years have been an extraordinary experience for me. I feel honored to have served the Chapter and be the leader of its ongoing resurgence. After my term expires, I will continue to be active as the Chairman of the President’s Advisory Council and serve in any manner possible. Thanks to many of our members for the kind remarks, support, and feedback.
