James E. Lentz

Jim concentrates his practice in general real estate, real estate financing, leasing, zoning and land use and real estate development of all types. His work includes assisting clients in structuring, negotiating, conducting due diligence and closing sales, purchases, leases and loans. He also represents homebuilders, landlords and tenants. Some of the types of transactions he handles are shopping center development and acquisition, and office building development and acquisition.  He has also handled airport leases for the City of Chicago and worked with many municipalities on behalf of home builder clients.

Jim has recently been involved in:

• Representing several hospitals in financing and refinancing of medical office buildings and other facilities.
• Representing major servicing agent in working out defaulted commercial loans.
• Representing purchaser of iconic Chicago landmark office building on Michigan Avenue.
• Representing a private equity purchaser in acquiring several warehouse distribution centers and further developing the centers for leasing to large retail tenants.
• Representing German logistics company leasing U.S. headquarters and establishing light industrial and distribution center for servicing high tech medical equipment. 
• Advising the purchaser of a major office building in the central business district of Chicago.
• Representing and advising a major hospital in the sale of its medical office buildings.
• Representing a major manufacturing company in build-to-suit acquisition of several warehouse facilities.
• Representing national home builders in real estate acquisition and development matters.
• Representing institutional purchaser of low-income housing tax credits.
• Counseling a national distributor and vendor of seafood products in all legal matters.
