Jamie A. Robinson
Jamie is a partner in the Litigation Department. She has handled a wide variety of matters in both state and federal court, as well as at the appellate level, including contract disputes, business torts, construction, eminent domain, zoning issues, food products liability, healthcare, copyright and trademark. Jamie has also handled matters involving alternative dispute resolutions, including arbitrations and mediations.
Her recent experience includes:

Successfully representing a home for the developmentally disabled against the City of Markham for housing discrimination in a TRO proceeding and obtaining one of the largest settlements for a housing discrimination suit in Illinois history;

Successfully defending a Northeast Illinois county at trial regarding the constitutionality of its zoning ordinance and successfully representing the county on appeal to the Illinois Appellate Court for the Second District;

Successfully representing an Illinois municipality at trial regarding the enforceability of its zoning code, and successfully representing the municipality on appeal to the Illinois Appellate Court for the Second District;

Successfully defending the City of Marshall, Illinois at trial regarding the constitutionality of its adult use ordinance; and successfully representing the City on appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit;

Obtaining summary judgment in favor of an Illinois Medical Center against a defamation claim and successfully representing the Center on appeal to the Illinois Appellate Court for the First District;

Successfully defending an action for breach of contract, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty in a partnership dispute before a 3-member FINRA arbitration panel;

Obtaining a favorable judgment for defendants at trial for a breach of contract claim;

Successfully representing an Illinois nursing home in an action for various statutory and regulatory violations, injunctive relief and breach of contract; and

Representing a nursing home in an administrative action against the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding fines assessed against the facility.
Jamie has been a speaker at and presented mock trial demonstrations at State and National level long-term health care conferences including WAHSA, AAHSA and CAHSA.
