Event:
Urgent: Illinois Sales and Property Tax Exemption Executive Briefing via Conference Call
Ungaretti & Harris Teleconference
Earlier this week, the Illinois Department of Revenue denied property tax exemption applications for three hospitals. Given the economic and political climate in Illinois, there is strong reason to believe IDOR will deny property and sales tax exemptions for many others.
To provide hospitals with an understanding of this phenomenon and how to handle the coming wave of exemption denials, Ungaretti & Harris is holding an invitation only executive briefing by telephone on Thursday, August 25th at 12:00 noon.
This briefing is intended for CEOs, CFOs, General Counsel and other hospital executives that will be tasked with navigating these issues, including strategies for responding to a denial of their hospital’s tax exempt status. By attending, you will gain:
- Understanding of the current situation, including government insiders’ explanations of the reasons IDOR is using to deny applications;
- Insight into how an application can be corrected and, if denied, how to proceed with the appeal process;
- Awareness of the litigation options available if your exemption is denied, and which may be best for you to pursue;
- Immediate “action steps” you can take to reduce tax liabilities while you are working to reverse IDOR’s denial of your exemption; and
- An opportunity to have our Healthcare and Government attorneys answer your questions about tax exemption matters.
To Register: Registration is by invitation only, and only clients and others invited by Ungaretti & Harris may attend the call. Click the registration link on the right to register.
Once your registration has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email, the call-in number and pass code, and an opportunity to send questions for the Q&A segment of the program.
