Elizabeth LaRocca

Beth is an associate and a member of the Healthcare Practice Group.  Beth works with a variety of different healthcare clients, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, independent diagnostic testing facilities and physician practice groups.

Beth’s experience includes: 

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various healthcare contracts, including HIPAA business associate agreements, billing services contracts, physician employment contracts and security interest agreements;
  • Advising on fraud and abuse issues, and developing related educational resources;
  • Assisting in negotiations with the OIG as related to a Corporate Integrity Agreement;
  • Drafting bylaws, rules and regulations and other governance documents;
  • Advising on and preparing HIPAA Privacy Rule and Security Rule policies and procedures;
  • Counseling on medical staff and hospital relationships;
  • Preparing and advising on comments for federal regulatory agencies and healthcare accrediting bodies;
  • Negotiating and aiding providers including long-term care systems and healthcare associations with corporate restructuring, including strategizing regarding restructuring and preparation of governance documents;
  • Preparing advocacy documents and model legislation for use in state lobbying efforts;
  • Drafting compliance plans and documents for hospital providers;
  • Preparing memorandum and opinions on fraud and abuse issues;
  • Providing assistance in securing tax-exemptions for long-term care clients.
  • Preparing form contracts for hospital use;
  • Preparing of various provider filings for Medicare and state health programs.

Prior to joining Ungaretti & Harris, Beth was healthcare counsel at the American Medical Association.
