Ungaretti & Harris attorneys and staff are committed to socially responsible business practices. We understand the potential impact of our daily firm activities and act in the best interest of our clients, communities and the environment.

Pro Bono
As attorneys, we take pride in providing pro bono legal services to our community. We view this public service as a professional responsibility as well as an opportunity to provide rewarding and enriching experiences for our attorneys. We encourage all of our attorneys to participate in pro bono programs, and we credit up to 50 hours of this time as billable equivalent hours.

Ungaretti & Harris proudly supports The Chicago Bar Foundation's Investing in Justice Campaign. The Investing in Justice Campaign raises financial support for pro bono and legal aid organizations, ensuring access to justice for low-income and disadvantaged individuals in the Chicago community. We are proud to have exceeded the program's participation goal for participant law firms.  In addition, Ungaretti & Harris partners with the circuit court to provide pro bono attorneys to petitioners who seek independent orders of protection at Cook County's domestic violence courthouse.

Sustainability
Ungaretti & Harris continuously looks for opportunities to adopt business practices that lessen our impact on the environment, and has formed a Green Committee to help develop programs and policies to ensure that we operate in environmentally responsible ways. For example, we developed a delivery system with our primary office supplies vendor that utilizes tote bins for our deliveries rather than cardboard boxes. This has eliminated the need for more than 500 boxes annually. In addition, we purchase products and supplies that incorporate recycled materials—which include everything from stationery to furniture. We also prefer to work with vendors that share our values and concerns for the environment, and actively encourage suppliers to adopt environmentally responsible practices.

Community Service
Ungaretti & Harris has formed a Community Outreach Committee that provides opportunities for all of our attorneys and staff to join together to support non-profit organizations. We continue to support and foster relationships with numerous organizations, including:

Corporate Work Study Program
Ungaretti & Harris sponsors and participates in the Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory School corporate work study program. Comprised of a team of several young women and men working in a job share internship capacity, this program allows student-workers to earn about 75% of their tuition while providing real world job experience. Our goal is to create an invaluable learning and work experience for each of them.
